if your song is in c major the notes are C, D, E, G, and A.
if its a minor then its A, C, D, E, and G.
these scales are usually the most core notes of the scale and usually sound good when combined with other notes

if your song isnt in c major or a minor then just move the root (first) note to the correct note (ex. move C to E if the song is in e major)
