This is a question that has been rattling around in my brain for a bit. What would be a better "obstacle" for a song? Hurt notes or Kill notes. (Let's remain civil about this) I'll explain my side first. I think both have uses depending on the song. The Hurt note (most similar to NotITG Mines) are the most underrated for me and seem to me confused for their more deadly counterpart and I don't think they are being used more, or at least to their full potential. Meanwhile kill notes, while being great obstacles for endgame/super-boss songs, I think are/were being overused in some mods to give a degree of challenge that goes in a different direction, especially if it's a very fast song with 16th note bursts. I now leave it to you to hopefully share your thoughts calmly and collectively about this.

I think hurt notes are far less frustrating than kill notes. Having to restart the entire song for one mistake is too harsh. Mechanics in games should punish the player, sure, but within reason. If someone hits multiple hurt notes and dies due to it, it seems more fair because they had multiple oppurtunities to correct their mistakes.
